Bad Dog U

BAD DOG U is an instrumental electric quartet that plays a unique blend of progressive rock and jazz-fusion, with a high regard for melody. The music is uplifting and covers many emotions and thoughts. Each composition weaves seamlessly from tightly-arranged ensemble work to interactiveimprovisation. It tells a story with dramatic plot twists and conflict, resolution and irony. BAD DOG U is a Chicago cult favourite for more than fifteen years. This album marks their long-awaited debut. Ernie Denov is the founder of BAD DOG U and guitarist. He has been involved in Chicago’s music scene for more than two decades. He has performed or recorded live with Richard Marx and Liquid Soul. “Ernie Denov brings jazz chops to his more visible rock work. On the other hand, he uses rock’s pulsar energy to lighten up his jazz gigs (including his regular appearances with Chevere, a pan-latin band). Denov has a hard, beveled sound and can bend a note with ease. He is often reminiscent of the classic instrumental rock albums by Jeff Beck from the mid-70s. This is no small compliment. Neil Tesser, jazz critic for Playboy Magazine Ernie Denov. Guitars Dave Farley. Bass Guitar Rick Snyder. Keyboards Rick Vitek. Drums from CDBaby.
