Barnacled, an avant-jazz band from Providence RI may be responsible for their prog/noise leanings. Barnacled’s nine-member roster includes Alec K Redfearn, an electronic genius Frank Difficult, JMMJ (Jason McGill/ Michael Jefferies), on alto/baritone Saxophone. Barnacled will be making rare NY-area appearances with a bassoon, guitar and other types of percussion. Barnacled will be performing at Don Pedro in Brooklyn on December 15th, while ESP-Disk will host a record release party at Manhattan’s Bowery Poetry club on December 16th. The new Barnacled album is called “Charles,” it’s their first since their 2002 debut on Corleone, and it was released by ESP-Disk in November 2008. from http://freemusicarchive.org
