SHALOSH’s music is characterized by its drama and sophistication, as well as its crossover with Jazz music. SHALOSH’s music transcends the traditional Jazz trio format of piano, bass, and drums. The band members are deeply rooted in Jazz and improvised traditions. SHALOSH’s music is a unique blend of different genres such as Rock, Classical and African music. To make music that moves the audience, the band’s goal is to do so in a way that is most appealing to them. This is in contrast to intellectual music. This group’s story is unique and relevant to their agenda. The three members of SHALOSH – Gadi Stern (piano), Matan Andag (drums), and Daniel Benhorin [bass] – are childhood friends. They have been playing together ever since they were young, when they both attended the same high school in Jerusalem. The three friends reunited after years of being side-men and band leaders in different countries. After years of performing in Israel and New York, the trio decided to form a band. Gadi returned to Israel for six months of intensive work with Matan, Daniel, and they have just recorded their debut album “The Bell Garden”. Within a short period of time, the project was already generating a lot of buzz. This band stands out in today’s Jazz scene because it is not lead by one artist but co-led and led by its three members, who have enjoyed an artistic evolution through years of friendship and collaboration.
