Pharez Whitted

Pharez Whitted, an American jazz trumpeter and composer, is also a producer. Whitted has been performing all over the United States and abroad since 1982. He also performed at The Arsenio Hall Show and The Billboard Music Awards. Indy Jazz Fest 2005: The Chicago trumpeter Whitted plays. He studied music at DePauw University, and then went on to receive a master’s from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He is the current director of jazz studies for Chicago State University. As of 2009, he plays in Chicago with Bobby Broom and Ron Perrillo. Whitted is a United Musical Instruments clinician. He is the son and nephew of Virtue Hampton Whitted, the late singer/bassist and trombonist. Pharez Whitted has been a jazz musician with Wynton Marsalis and Branford Marsalis. He also performed with George Duke, Branford Marsalis and Elvin Jones. Slide Hampton, John Mellencamp and Roy Meriwether. Whitted produced, arranged and performed on two compact discs for MoTown Jazz’s Jazz label, Pharez Whitted u0026 Mysterious Cargo. He was also co-produced the MoJazz record People Make the World Go ‘Round. Transient Journey, Whitted’s third album was released by Owl Studios in Indianapolis in 2010.
