Mars Williams

Mars Williams, born 1955 in Elmhurst (Illnois), USA, is an American jazz and rock musician. He has performed on The Power Station’s debut record, The Power Station. Mars began his career as an orchestator and arranger, while studying under Roscoe Mitchell and Anthony Braxton. Mars is a veteran musician and has performed with many bands and recording artists including The Psychedelic Furs and Ministry, Billy Idol and The Power Station, Die Warzau and The Waitresses as well as Pete Cosey and Billy Squier. He has also recorded and toured with the Peter Brotzmann Tent, Vandermark 5, Cinghiale, Mark Freeland’s Electroman and is the bandleader for several spin-off jazz projects, Liquid Soul and NRG Ensemble.
