Stu Williamson, the younger brother of pianist Claude Williamson and a regular on West Coast jazz dates in the 1950s, was a fixture. In 1949, he moved to Los Angeles and played with Stan Kenton (1951), Woody Herman (52-1953), Kenton again (1954-1955) and Billy May (1954-1955). Williamson is best known for his association with Shelly Mane (1954-1958), Stan Kenton (1951), and Woody Herman (1952-1953), as well as countless sessions with Billy May and Charlie Barnet.
