Kenny Wollesen

Kenny Wollesen, percussionist, was a featured performer on more than 30 recordings in the 1990s. He gained greater recognition as a musician of extraordinary versatility, skill, and ingenuity over the course of the decade. He has recorded and toured all types of musicians, including Tom Waits (Wollesen plays on Waits’ 1993 collaboration, Black Rider, with William S. Burroughs), Ron Sexsmith (Wolleson sings on his second album Other Songs). Wolleson, a founding member of New Klezmer Trio is also all over N.Y.C. He is known for his downtown jazz and avant-garde music recordings and has been so active that he toured with Bill Frisell in the same month. Allmusic
