Duane Allman was a guitar legend who went from being a musical unknown to being one of the most respected guitarists in rock. He died in 24 months. His legacy was barely established, let alone his name. He had two studio albums finished with his band, a live record, and many shows with them. Sessions in which he performed behind other artists and songs from a failed solo album project were just a few of the things he did. While the Allman Brothers Band is his most significant legacy, there are enough other projects that warrant a pair of anthology books. You can start musically with either one. The first set contains a great essay about his life and career. But serious fans will want the complete albums, which contain a lot of the tracks, even the session music. Allmusic
