Dave Anderson was born in Philadelphia and has been playing the piano professionally since he was a teenager. Dave Anderson played in Philadelphia’s jazz clubs full-time from 1974 to 1981 after completing 15 years of jazz and classical piano studies. Dave moved to Washington DC in 1981 and played in many performance settings, including solo piano and in a jazz big band. He formed a new trio in the late 90’s and started performing regularly in local clubs. This included a five-year engagement at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Arlington, VA, and appearances at Blues Alley, DC. He released “Out of Nowhere”, his first CD as a trio, and began a long-term collaboration with Barry Neal, his vocalist. Dave began performing with Mike Wingo in 2006 and developed the duo’s repertoire. Their first duo CD, “Conversations”, was released by Mike and Dave in 2010.
