Richard Andersson (b. Oct. 1982) is a Danish/Faroese/Icelandic bass player and composer based in Copenhagen where he is known as “one of the most interesting characters of the Danish jazz scene” (Iver Rod/Gaffa Music Magazine.). Andersson was raised in a musical family, but he never took an interest in music until the age 14 when a fireworks incident cost him his sight. Richard Andersson is a great composer and bass player in modern jazz. This happened around twenty years ago. Oskar Gudjonsson, Rudi Mahall (DE), KasperTranberg (DK), Jerry Bergonzi/Moses/Andersson), Ra-Kalam Bob Moses/Moses/Andersson) and Bill McHenry were some of his bandleaders.
