Marc Antoine

Marc Antoine, guitarist, composer, and producer, was born in Paris (France), on the 28th May 1963. When he was eleven years old, his parents bought him his first guitar. It quickly became his third hand. Marc has always had a guitar in the palm of his hand. His father, who was 13 years old, saw his rapid growth and sent him to the conservatory to study classical music. His mentors at that time were John Williams and Andres Segovia. He was 17 years old when he won numerous prizes and began to show an interest in many music genres, including jazz, rock, world, pop, and more. He was also playing in Britany (France) in local bands. Tragically, his debut career was cut short in 1981 by a catastrophic injury to his left hand. His chances of ever playing again were slim. He persevered through all the hardships and his passion for music helped him get over this tragedy. In 1984, he was back in Paris performing and recording for artists such as Charlelie Couture and France Gall. He moved to London in 1988 to join Basia’s band. He also worked with the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra, soul to soul, Pato banton, and general Public. He was also a part of the London Acid Jazz scene. He was a world traveler and ended up in Tokyo (Japan), where he became renowned as a session player. Marc was a true global citizen and he kept moving. He moved to Los Angeles (California), in 1990. He was there for 12 years, playing for music royalty like Rod Stewart, Celine Dion and Queen Latifah as well as Rod Stewart, Sting, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart and Cher. He composed and performed major movie soundtracks, including “Get Shorty”, “The Fan”, “Patch Adams”, and “Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil”, as well as “Demolition Man”, and “Celtic Pride”. He worked with many producers, including Philippe Saisse and Tommy LiPuma as well as Mike Pela, Paul Brown and Guy Roche. Marc started his solo career, but that’s not the most important. “Classical Soul” NYC Records 1994 was his first album. His first album was “Classical Soul” NYC records 1994.
