Aram Bajakian, a Brooklyn-based guitarist, began performing when he was ten years old. He imitated Jimmy Pages’ “Dazed u0026 Confused” violin bow and played guitar cacophony at Fifth Grade talent shows. Bajakian has recorded/performed with Lou Reed, Grammy winner Yusef Lateef and guitarist Marc Ribot. He also performed with trumpeter Steven Bernstein, drummers Kenny Wollenson and Billy Martin, as well as Jamaaladeen Tacuma (bass legend), violist Mat Maneri and Malcolm Mooney, the original Can Singer. Bajakian draws inspiration from many musical styles and cultures. He has traveled to West Africa and India as part of his music studies. Some of New York City’s most prestigious venues include Town Hall, Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, Prospect Park Bandshell and the Stone, Joe’s Pub. Bajakian is the leader of several groups including Kef, which plays Armenian songs, Beat Down, an Afro Punk Ensemble and Killing Floor, a blues/RnB project.
