Jim Bashford is a Midlands UK native. He started playing drums at age 10, and was heavily influenced by progressive rock and jazz. For the next 6 years, he learned drums from Steve Palmer. Jim Bashford spent 14 years playing in various bands and was also a construction worker. He then went on to study at Birmingham Conservatoire for the BMus. He continued his drum lessons with the legendary Tony Levin and Gene Calderazzo, Jeff Williams, and Malcolm Garrett in jazz. Jim formed the CONSTRUCTION quartet in 2010. They performed original compositions on a tour with Johnny Brierley bass, Hilmar Jensson, and Robin Fincker clarinet and sax. Tim Harries joined the quartet on bass, and a recording called CENTRELINE THEORY was released by LEO Records 2017. Jim has been a member of 20 different ensembles. He tours extensively in Europe and the UK, including appearances at London jazz venues like the Barbican Centre, The Vortex, and Kings Place. Tim Harries will be playing bass on CENTRELINE THEORY, which was released by LEO Records 2017. Jim has worked with many artists, including Liam Noble and John O Gallagher. He also collaborated with Robin Fincker, Robin Fincker, Hilmar Jennifersson, Soweto Kang, Omar, Dave Sinclair and Katie Melua. from http://jimbashford.co.uk
