David Binney, alto saxophonist, has been hailed as an original and highly acclaimed performer of progressive jazz in modern times. He was born in Miami, FL on August 2, 1961. His parents were avid music lovers and he spent some time living in Detroit. He was introduced to Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Bobby Hutcherson by his parents. He also discovered the music of Wayne Shorter, Jimi Hendrix and Milton Nascimento.
