Dan Blacksberg, a Philadelphia native, is a unique musician as a composer, trombonist, and educator. Dan Blacksberg is a well-known trombonist and composer, and is a leading practitioner of klezmer trombone. In just a few days, Dan can switch between traditional klezmer, straight-ahead jazz, experimental new musical, and country music on his trombone. It has lead to Dan performing with artists like Elaine Hoffman Watts and Adrienne Cooper, Michael Winograd, Frank London, and experimentalists such as George Lewis and Anthony Braxton. He is also a featured soloist with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Bandcamp Daily describes Dan as “a maestro” who effortlessly jumps between and, ultimately, deconstructs, many genres. His musical vision has allowed him to create music that is accessible to many people. Dan’s latest album Radiant Others features danceable klezmer music.
