Shanir Ezra Rosenkranz, acoustic/electric basse, and oud, was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1975. Shanir has performed and recorded extensively with Satlah and Rashanim and Pharaoh’s Daughter, all of whom have made many records for John Zorn’s Tzadik record label. Shani Ezra BlumenkranzA number of CDs were recorded for Tzadik. These include a compilation by Israeli composer Shasha Argov, a compilation by Zorn of music called “Voices In The Wilderness”, a compilation by Zorn of unheard Masada music called “Unkown Masada”, a compilation by Brazilian composer Jacob Du Bandolim, “John Zorn Filmworks XV”, featuring Zorn, Cyro Baptista, as well as well as well as well, called Queen’s Dominion by Basya Schechter’s Dominion. Shanir is also featured on “Chinatown” – Nottwo Records. “Sextet 2003”, Parallactic Records featuring Anthony Braxton u0026 Sonny Simmons. Trio Tarana’s “Climbing The Banyan Tree”, – Cleen Feed Records. Jason Kao Hwang and Ravish Momin are featured. Shanir has performed at many festivals and clubs around the globe, including a concert in London for BBC Radio with Zorn. Shanir was also featured in the May 2000 issue Bass Player Magazine.
