Julian Brezon, a composer and saxophonist, brings a new ear to modern creative music. He draws on literary works and visual art to give his compositions a unique character. Brezon was fortunate to be exposed to music and art from a young age, thanks to his mother’s work as a painter, and his father’s vast and varied record collection. Brezon’s rich experience in sound and color has given him a refined ear that allows for a unique harmony between listening and reflection. Brezon has performed original music in Maryland venues. His debut album, The Deep Light is the culmination of many years of compositions for his jazz septet. Brezon’s broad interest in many music styles has led him to explore improvised music with Out of Your Head, blues, punk and rock music with various Baltimore groups, as well as flute and clarinet chorus participation. Brezon is currently pursuing a Graduate Performance Diploma in Jazz at the Peabody Conservatory. He has studied with renowned saxophonist Gary Thomas and trumpeter Alex Norris. Multiple grants have been awarded to Brezon by the Maryland State Arts Council. Brezon completed his undergraduate studies at UMBC, where he was a recipient the Linehan Arts Scholarship. from http://julianbrezon.com
