Jean-paul Brodbeck

Born in Basel, he was first invited to perform on stage by Lionel Hampton when he was just 15 years old. He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Music, Basel, studying classical music with Peter Efler (Piano). In 1995, he graduated with distinction and received a teacher’s diploma. Brodbeck has proven his versatility stylistically in many different forms. Brodbeck was one of the founders of experimental Hip Hop Groups Chapter 12 u0026 P27. He also played in the well-known Klezmer group ‘Baith Jaffe,’ and was a prominent member of the famous quartet led by Domenic Landolf. Brodbeck is also related to Andy Scherrer, Wolfgang Muthspiel and many other personalities who have greatly contributed to his musical growth. The press praised his first CD, “Ways to You”, which he released in 2002 with Dominic Egli (and Peter Frei). His first Solo Album, which mainly featured original compositions, was released a year later and received excellent reviews. He continues to be a well-known accompanying musician in many forms. Jean-Paul Brodbeck performs mainly with his new band, the Jean-Paul Brodbeck Group. He also shares his knowledge with different workshops and teaches piano at the Conservatory of Music, Lucerne.
