George Brooks, a prolific and varied saxophonist/composer, is well-known for his ability to bridge the worlds jazz and Indian classical music. Many important Indian fusion groups he founded include Summit with Fareed Haque and Kai Eckhardt, Zakirhussain, Zakir Hussain, Steve Smith, Bombay Jazz, Ronu Majumdar, and the Kirwani Quartet, which includes Gwyneth Wentink, a Dutch harpist, and Hariprasad Chaurasia, an Indian flute master.
