Alex Bugnon is a contemporary jazz keyboard player and nephew to trumpeter Donald Byrd. After two years at the Paris Conservatory of Music, he moved to the United States to attend the Berklee School of Music. He also performed as an accompanist for gospel groups. He worked as a session musician in New York for four years, supporting jazz and urban musicians like Patti Austin, Freddie Jackson and James Ingram. He was signed to Orpheus Records and released Love Season in 1989. It reached the top 40 of the R charts, and also the pop charts.
