Ltj Bukem

LTJ Bukem (real name Danny Williamson) discovered music when he was a child through piano lessons. He discovered clubbing at the age of 17 by visiting local soul clubs. He was a passionate record buyer and became interested in mixing his own club soundtrack. DJing became his main focus. He had a good enough reputation by 1988 to realize that DJing could be a career. Within 24 months, he was performing in front of over 10,000 people. Bukem’s productions include “Logical Progression” (1991),”Demon’s Theme” (1992),”Atlantis”, “Music” (1993),”Music” (1993) and “Horizons” (1995). The first of these tracks, both anthemic yet relaxing, was Bukem’s blueprint for his sonic vision. It inspired him to create Goodlooking, which has been a leader in these sonic realms. Bukem’s 1998 Mystical Realms EP featured “Twilight Voyage”, a darkly sung song with flute refrains and chopping keys that create an outer-world atmosphere. Bukem’s sound was further developed by the vocal and instrumental versions “Orchestral Jam” with its urgent breaks, dissonant violins and reflective final track “Journey Inwards.” His long-awaited solo album Journey Inwards was released in 2000. It is a multi-directional and diverse release of drum music.
