Don Burrows

Don Burrows, AO, MBE is a legendary jazz musician who has been at the forefront for 60 years. He is well-respected for his musical talent and support of the jazz arts. Burrows has toured every year since 1960. Burrows was a Living National Treasure in 1998 and 1988. He was also the first Australian jazz musician to win a gold record. He was also the first artist to perform at the Montreaux and Newport festivals in Europe. In recent years, Burrows has been on numerous countrywide educational tours, taking his music and experience into schools all over Australia, from Broome through Tasmania. – From SBS Documentary “Australian Biography”
