Lauren Bush

Lauren was born in Canada and moved to London three years ago to pursue music at a higher level. Lauren was the daughter of a jazz trumpeter father, and a music teacher mother. It is not surprising that Lauren has such innate talent for music. For many years she ignored her talent, believing that music would be just a hobby. She took voice lessons, but was too scared to perform. Lauren auditioned in 2004 for the university’s big band and was accepted. She has never looked back. Lauren has had many amazing opportunities to perform while traveling all over North America. Her career highlights include opening for Maynard Ferguson and performing with her quartet at Corpus Christi Jazz Festival 2 times running. She also performed at the Victoria International Jazz Festival. Bobby McFerrin was on the Idaho Jazz Festival stage. Lauren has also been a regular performer in Handy Park, New Orleans. Highlights of her career since moving to London include performances at Elgar Room and Royal Albert Hall, as well as being a finalist for the Riga Jazz Stage competition, Riga, Latvia. Lauren’s quartet recorded their debut demo in 2010 with unique arrangements of standards tunes such as Softly, As In a Morning Sunrise and When You’re Smiling. Three of these recordings were played on Metromedia Radio in New York, and local stations in London. The video Softly, as In a Morning Sunrise has been viewed over 140,000 times on Youtube. Lauren is trying to make connections with Europe, while building a name for herself in London. Recently, Lauren was invited to sing in northern Italy with Luca di Luzio’s guitar-playing quartet. Lauren is currently a resident at The Charterhouse Bar, in the heart Smithfield Market. Lauren just completed recording her debut album, with the assistance of Ian Shaw, an award-winning vocalist. It will be released in early 2016. from www.laurenbushjazz.com
