ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY, one of America’s most prominent champions of the American Songbook, has made her mark as a singer and pianist, composer, lyricists, arrangers, actresses, teacher, producer, TV host, and producer. Her unique singing style, which combines jazz and traditional pop, makes her an entertainer. She is a regular in jazz clubs, concert halls, jazz clubs, as well as in recording studios, television and film. Her Broadway hit musical Swing, for which she was nominated for a Tony, is her most well-known performance. She is also known for writing and singing The Nanny’s theme song. Callaway, a Platinum Award-winning writer, has seven songs on Barbra Streisand’s most recent CD’s. She is the only composer to have worked with Cole Porter. Callaway’s live performances show her spontaneity, warmth, and passion for jazz standards, originals, and jazz classics. Callaway is a master improviser, creating songs from the words and phrases of her audience, alone or with a symphony orchestra. Ann has performed as a special guest with Wynton Marsalis, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Keith Lockhart, and the Boston Pops Symphony Hall and Tanglewood. She is also featured at many Carnegie Hall tributes. She has performed with over thirty of the top big bands and orchestras around the globe. Callaway was accompanied by Liz Callaway, a Broadway star, in Sibling Revelry, London’s award-winning show. Their latest act, “Boom!” was a highly acclaimed celebration of babyboomer songs of the 60’s u0026 70’s. It was recorded by PS Classics. The show debuted in the top 25 of Billboard Jazz. Ann sang the Emmy Award-winning song “Yes Virginia” in the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade Telecast. Ann recently debuted “The Streisand Songbook”, her latest symphony program, with The Boston Pops. She continues to tour the show with top orchestras throughout the country through 2015.
