Caravan Palace, a French electro-swing band, is based in Paris. Django Reinhardt and Vitalic are among the band’s influences. In October 2008, the band released Caravan Palace, their first studio album on Wagram. It charted in France, Belgium, and Switzerland where it reached number 11. The group was originally formed as a trio. Loic Barrouk became interested in the project, and booked the band a recording studio as well as a number of gigs. Live concerts required more performers and the three remaining members of the band were discovered through MySpace searches. After releasing several demos and promo singles, the band quickly became very popular online. They toured France for a year from 2006 to 2007. Their first festival appearance was at the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival, in 2007. The group was signed by Wagram Music, a Paris-based record label. The group spent the following year recording material for their debut album. The self-titled Caravan Palace was published on October 20, 2008. It was preceded by “Jolie Coquine”, which was released the following day. It was praised for its traditional jazz influences and placed in several European albums charts. The album reached number 72 in Switzerland and 42 in Belgium. The album did well in France, where it reached a peak position at 11 in August 2009. It remained on the French Albums Chart for 68 consecutive week. [2] On February 24, 2009, the band released “Suzy”, their second official single. The band released the EP Clash on October 3, 2011. It featured two new songs as well as four remixes. Panic, the band’s second album was released on March 5, 2012. The band also remixed Drake Bell’s “Bitchcraft” in 2014. The band released “Comics” on June 22, 2015. Their second single, “Lone Digger”, was released in September 2015. On October 16, 2015, the band released their third studio album,. On October 27, 2015, they appeared on Later With Jools Holland and October 30, 2015. They also appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show on Oct 31, 2015.
