Eddie’s older brother Charlie Palmieri (later Eddie) once regretted the great Latin-jazz period and the quintets, and this is why. All-Stars records date back to the 1960s “descarga”, or jam session craze. This incorporated both Latin jazz and tipico elements in long vocal numbers that featured blazing solos by an allmusic lineup.
