Edward Elzear “Zez” Confrey, born April 3, 1895 and died November 22, 1971. He was an American pianist and composer. His most famous works include “Kitten on the Keys” and “Dizzy Fingers”. Confrey was the youngest child of Thomas Confrey and Margaret Confrey, and was born in Peru. He became a pianist and arranger at the QRS piano rolls company after World War I. He recorded for the AMPICO Company. They made piano rolls for reproducing piano mechanisms. These piano rolls were used in pianos like the Mason.
