DFA (Duty Free Area), a guitarist, bass, keyboards and drums quartet from Italy, plays progressive rock with heavy jazz fusion influences. Their two studio albums are available. Work In Progress Live records their performance at Nearfest 2000 in Pennsylvania. Each member is able to create his own identity, while still keeping the ensemble element of their music. This impressive musicianship is remarkable. There are many analogies to be made: ELP, early Camel and Mahavishnu Orchestra. Two Ex Machina, which does not feature vocal gymnastics, might be a more current example.
