Django Festival Allstars brings the music of Django Reinhardt, the Gypsy Jazz Guitarist, fully into the 21st Century. Reinhardt is a legendary guitarist and has been praised for his high-energy performances. Reinhardt’s driving and swinging style was dubbed “hot jazz”, and continues to gain popularity around the globe. This is due in large part to The Django Festival Allstars who continue to honor the tradition of “gypsy music” by adding their own arrangements, interpretations and original compositions. Dorado Schmitt, guitarist/violinist, and his sons Samson (and Amati) are prominent members of this internationally-recognized group. Pierre Blanchard, a virtuoso musician and Ludovic Beier, an extraordinary accordionist, round out the band. Francko Mehrstein and DouDou Cuillerier are also featured on rhythm guitar.
