The Dorsey Brothers were a studio group led by Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey. Their first recordings were made in 1928 under their own name. They recorded a series for the OKeh label. They had arrived in New York in mid-century and were one of the most sought after musicians. They were a studio group that was never in any way a band. Members included almost all of the top white jazz musicians from New York during the 1928-1934 period. Decca signed them in 1934.
