Down to the Bone is a UK funk/jazz/soul group. Stuart Wade is the founder and producer. Wade says that it’s all about the “groove ” which is what gets people moving, tapping their toes and nodding their heads. Many accomplished musicians have been part of the live band, including. Tony Remy (guitar) has toured with Craig David and Lonnie Liston Smith, while Neil Angilley has worked with Snowboy. Jamiroquai has also toured with Adrian Revell (Sax), and Julian Crampton, (Bass). Paul ‘Shilts” Weimar was part of the horn section for The Brand New Heavies. Tim Smart -trombone. Jim Knight –sax Jamie Harris. Graeme Flowers Trumpet. Phil Nelson -Drums. Simon Bramley -bass. Tommy Emmerton – Guitar and Neil Burditt. keys. In the U.S., for gigs the band changes slightly. Neil Cowley (keys), has been recorded in the studio on the Zero 7 album “When it Falls”. His own musical project, ‘Fragile State’ was also a success with Zero 7. He is now known as The Neil Cowley Trio. Richard Sadler (bass, engineer and percussion) is one half of AKA Project. He also plays in The Neil Cowley Trio. Stuart is also co-written by Ian Crabtree, guitarist and bass. Many live musicians take part in studio recordings. Since the entire project’s lineup is fluid, musicians constantly change between studio and live chores.
