KAIT DUNTON, a jazz composer and pianist based in Los Angeles, is KAIT DUNTON. Kait’s richly composed piano trio and other ensembles sets new standards for jazz. She is passionate about travel and stories, and her music exudes a sense that inspires and invites listeners to experience the journey through her musical creations of mood and narrative. She was classically trained but found jazz and the freedom to improvise to be an outlet and her way into composition. Kait was first encouraged by a mentor at college to “Go write something!” but she wasn’t told how to do so. Kait’s writing is always unfiltered and pure from her heart. Real, her first self-produced album, was released in 2009.
