Gui Duvignau

Gui Duvignau, a composer and bass player, was born in France but raised in Brazil. He has a multi-cultural heritage that has led him to musical exploration and travel. He is a jazz musician at heart, but he also draws inspiration form his experiences playing Rock, Brazilian, and ‘World’ music as well as his classical music studies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music. In collaboration with Sofia Ribeiro, he released his first album Porto. It was inspired by his experiences in Portugal. It features original compositions by Sofia Ribeiro, Gui Duvignau, and was released in 2010, with the support from Antena 2, a Portuguese radio station. Fissura is his second album. It was made with Jonathan Orland (Alto Sax).
