Takeshi SHIMIZU, a keyboard player, met Baker DOI, a drummer, in autumn 1992 at an open-air concert on ‘Kokage no Hiroba (a stage beneath a tree)” by Osaka Maru. They formed a jazz-fusion-piano-based trio called EARTH DEFENSE FORCE. The project was reformed in October 1992 as an ensemble called E.D.F. They played regular gigs at Climax’s reggae club and released several studio and live albums in the past decade. The most notable being “E.D.F.”, their studio album. Their live masterpiece, “Live At Kozagawa,” was recorded in October 2006. Both were reissued by Follow Club Record in 2012. – DamoXt7942
