Doug Ebert, jazz bassist and composer, began his musical journey at the age of four, when he attended Mercyhurst Center for the Arts, Erie, PA. He began playing the bass violin as an undergraduate at Marquette University. Under the direction of Rich Kremer, Berkeley Fudge, guitarist Don Linke and bassist Rich Kremer he studied jazz theory at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Over ten years, Mr. Ebert was a regular at Milwaukee’s jazz scene, playing regularly at venues like the Jazz Estate and Jazz In The Park. His past experiences include stints with the Jack Grassel Troo, Don Linke Trio and Steve Einerson Trio. He also performed with the Mike Plog Quintet and the Jeno Somlai Group. Doug’s first album, “Times Change”, was released in June 2007. It features several of his compositions that were played by his Milwaukee bandmates. Doug moved to San Francisco in August 2007. He enjoys playing guitar with Terrence Brewer, vibraphonist Gerry Grosz and vocalist Pam Johnson. His second CD “Poor Dog” will be out in August 2011.
