John Ellis, a Chicago native, has performed throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. Arizona State University conferred him the Doctor of Music degree. He is a versatile performer and educator. Dr. Ellis has performed with many musical groups and artists including the Canadian Brass and the Moody Blues, Calgary Philharmonic and Les Violons du Roy. He is a frequent performer with Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra and has been broadcast internationally by PBS and CBC. He has given recitals and clinics at many prestigious festivals and institutions around the globe, including The Juilliard School in New York, Cincinnati Conservatory and Summit Brass. For Les Violons du Roy’s 25th anniversary tour, he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as well as the Walt Disney Concert Hall Los Angeles.
