Fish in oil plays original instrumental music that is infused with blues, rock and rolling, folk, free-jazz and film-music. It does not fall under any of these categories. The music of Fish in oil reflects the time and place where it was recorded. It is a fascinating blend of western and eastern cosmology and a fusion of history with contemporary life. In 2012, Fish in oil released the first album. It was titled “Poluostrvo” (Peninsula). It contained twelve compositions and was signed by guitarist Bratislav Radovanovic. The members of the band are all well-known Serbian musicians. Dusan Petrovic, a saxophonist, is the leader of a Menson Benjaminson sextet and he also plays in the Coxless duo. He also plays in dozens of other Belgrade bands such as Eyesburn, Playboy, etc. Branislav Radojkovic, bassist, is part of the world music band Naked. He also leads the jazz trio Tzotzoonga. Alexandar Radojicic Sojka is a percussionist in an Amaro del, and a few other projects. Fedja Franklin, a drummer, is part of a Coxless couple, Menson Benson quartet and session jazz drummer.
