Chris Forman

Chris Foreman is the organist of the Deep Blue Organ Trio. He is a skilled musician and heir to a throne that was once held by bluesy, soulful jazz organ legends. Foreman was born blind and started piano lessons at the age of five. Foreman was attracted to the sounds of Jack McDuff and JimmySmith as a teenager. Chris was drawn to the organ’s sounds and began studying recordings. Chris, unlike many African-American musicians whose musical skills are established by the church, didn’t begin his apprenticeship as an organist at the church until he was nearly twenty-years-old – long after his jazz roots had been established. He is a master of the blues-gospel, jazz, and has a remarkable command and range. His professional experience includes work with Hank Crawford and Albert Collins as well as Bernard Purdie and The Mighty Blue Kings. from http://originarts.com
