Mike Herriott

Canadian trumpeter, Mike Herriott, a respected multi-instrumentalist in both the classical and jazz genres, is in demand as a lead trumpeter, jazz improviser, orchestral soloist, bassist, arranger and composer. He has toured extensively in North America and South East Asia, and has performed with a number of notables including Maynard Ferguson and Rob McConnell. His record career includes CDs, radio, television, and film soundtracks. He has performed with the Canadian Brass (JUNO nominee 2011), the Vancouver Winter Olympics Closing and Opening Ceremonies (EMMY WINNER 2011, Michael Buble, Jannarden, Paul Brandt, as well as for Warner, Universal and Sony, Disney. CBC, CTV. and NBC. Mike has been a soloist with the symphony orchestras of Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary and Windsor, Newfoundland. Mississauga. Kingston, Okanagan. Chilliwack. He is available for performances in concert and the studio. He has performed extensively in a variety of musical ensembles, as well as shows like West Side Story (Western Canada), 42nd Street China, Swing! (Japan), Chicago, USA and Canada, Come Fly Away, USA, Canada, Japan), Return to Grace, Thailand, Canada, Jersey Boys, Cats, Anything Goes, Toronto, Aladdin, Wicked, Toronto, and Kinky Boots, Toronto. Mike has been invited to play the role of lead trumpet at symphonic pops shows throughout the year. He has performed this role with the Vancouver Symphony and Victoria Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and Hamilton Philharmonic. Mike has many recordings under his name and with Sean Harkness, a New York-based guitarist in the Harkness Herriott Duo (H2). November 2013 saw the release of the Mike Herriott solo album entitled Off the Road. This CD featured Mike playing a variety musical instruments, including Arturo Sandoval, a 10-time Grammy winner.
