Hiroshi Minami, a japanese pianistvirtuoso and Tokyo-based legend, teamed up with two Danish jazz musicians, Nils Davidsen on bass and Anders Mogensen on drums. The trio first met in Copenhagen Denmark in 2012, when they played at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. They recorded music material that spans back and forth between time. Jazz music is a distinct style. It mixes classical music with minimal zones, jazz music and heavy improscapes. This recording is unique because of the energy and depht that runs through it. The MODERN TRIO’s music is a meeting place between sound and structure. You will find the music very playfull! They recorded and toured extensively together with Kasper Tranberg, Europe’s top trumpetplayer in the late 90s/early 00s.
