Ric Molina

Ric Molina, the son of Colombian parents, was born in NYC and raised there. His father is a painter, and his mother studied classical vocal in Medellin. Ric started playing the cuatro when he was four years old and moved to the guitar at six years. His father was his primary musical influence. He played classical, blues and world music while he painted in the studio. These musical influences were absorbed by Molina, who learned to play the guitar and picked out the melodyes. Ric’s connection to the guitar was a constant endeavor. As a result, he has been working in all professional settings as a guitarist for the majority of his adult life. To this day, he is the guitarist for the Broadway musical WICKED. He also composed the music for the three seasons of THE EECTRIC COMPANY’s underscore series. The Ric Molina Group continues a long friendship that began with Fima Elphron in 1988 when CURRENT EVENTS was released (VERVE FORECAST). It also includes various recordings and musical associations. Fima Ephron produces @DREAMLAND. This project arose from many conversations between Molina and Ephron while they were working with other artists. Matt Wolf executive produced the project for his GUTSHOT MEDIA business, which exists to compel the best in music, art and media. This collaboration is growing and points to a future that excels in artistic expression, serving a global need for peace, humanism and beauty. from http://ricmolinagroup.com
