Nature Work was created in 2017 by Greg Ward, saxophonist, and Jason Stein, bass clarinetist. They had previously worked together in many Chicago ensembles including Mike Reed’s Flesh and Bone. Two horn players, Eric Revis and Jim Black, invited to join the band. They played a few shows in Chicago, Illinois in early 2018. The band quickly developed a rapport, and the debut album and first concerts were huge successes. The music combines the talents of each musician to bring uniqueness, flexibility, intensity and deep focus to each instrument. It is a thrilling experience to listen to, which results in an amazing group sound. Revis and Black make a powerful rhythm section that can create soaring grooves as well as free explorations into unknown territories.
