New Orleans Jazz Orchestra

The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra was established in 2002. It was created to celebrate and strengthen American Jazz and provide infrastructure for the development of the New Orleans Jazz Industry. This 20-piece jazz band, led by Adonis Rose as Artistic Director, has a repertoire that is constantly expanding and reflects the legacy of Jazz as the father of modern American music. NOJO has performed at all the major American performing arts venues and clubs. They also produced the first ever local, ticketed Jazz Concert Series. NOJO’s album, BOOK ONE, was released on World Village, a subsidiary label of Harmonia Mundi. It won the 2010 Grammy Award as “Best Large Jazz Ensemble.” Dee Dee Bridgewater, a Grammy- and Tony-winning singer, was featured on the most recent album. From www.thenojo.com
