John Taylor recommended that Liam become the regular pianist for Stan Sulzmann after he had studied music at Oxford University. Anita Wardell and Harry Beckett were his bands. He also recorded and toured with the cult minimalist composer Moondog. He also performed with John Taylor, Kenny Wheeler, and Lol Coxhill during this time. After leaving the Guildhall School in 2003, Noble released Close Your Eyes as a solo piano album. It featured free improvisations, compositions, and interpretations of tunes from Annette Peacock, Richard Rodgers, and Ornette Coleman.

He has published four volumes of transcriptions of the Bill Evans Trio and Jazz Piano: A Deep Look at the Styles of the Masters. Both were published by Hal Leonard.
