Chris Otts, a Saxophonist, Composer and Educator from Atlanta, has been actively involved in the Atlanta music scene ever since he moved to the area in 2010. Otts is currently a graduate teaching associate at Georgia State University. He also maintains a private teaching studio with over 40 students. Otts is an award-winning performer, composer and arranger who has worked with many different styles. Recently, Otts was honored for his compositions on Layers, for which he received a BMI Future Jazz Masters Scholarship. Otts is a performer who has had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented jazz musicians, including Wycliffe Gordon and Eric Reed. Otts is an expert in all types of music and has performed with many pop and rock bands, including Blood Sweat and Tears and recorded a live album for The Whigs. Otts’ debut album Layers was released by The Chris Otts Group and features some of Atlanta’s finest musicians. The Chris Otts band has played at many jazz venues across the southeast, as well as festivals such as the Appalachian Wine and Jazz Festival and Candlelight Jazz Festival.
