Gabriel Palatchi

Gabriel Palatchi was conceived in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on August 3, 1982. He began his first lessons on the piano at age 8. The conservatory Manuel de Falla in Argentina was where he studied classical music. He earned a degree in Musical Production from ORT High School. He also completed a Berklee international School degree in music. He studied with many of the greatest jazz and blues musicians, including Ricardo Nole, Ernesto Jodos and Alvaro Torres. He left home in 2008 to start traveling to further his musical experiences and studies. He met and studied with many maestros, including “Chucho” Valdez. He traveled to Mexico to continue his musical education and experience. These adventures continue today. Gabriel’s travels led him to create and produce his first solo CD, “Diario de Viaje”, (Travel Diary). In May 2013, he recorded his second album, “Caja Musical” (music box). These productions feature music arrangements by over 20 Latin American musicians. Gabriel’s music is a unique blend of many genres, including Latin Jazz, Tango and Funk, Klezmer. The Gabriel Palatchi Band has been touring throughout Argentina, Mexico, and Canada for the past 5 years. They have performed at many important venues and international festivals, including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (VIJF), Victoria International Jazz Festival (QCC), Waterloo International Jazz Festival), Waterloo International Jazz Festival), Waterloo International Jazz Festival and Waterloo International Jazz Festival. The band’s promotional tour for “Diario de Viaje”, (travel diary), was a huge success, creating buzz in every local music scene they visit. JAZZ FM Toronto 91.1 selected “Diario de Viaje” as one of the top Latin Jazz albums for the year. Gabriel’s music can be heard on many radio stations around the globe, from Alaska to South America to Europe and the Middle East, as well as Australia. The Latin Jazz Network, Ejazznews and Rolling Stone Magazine have all reviewed it and featured it on Newstime South Africa, Inside World Music, Salsa Son Timba Colombia and Newstime South Africa. Gabriel currently splits his time between Canada, Canada, Vancouver, Montreal, Mexico, and Argentina (Buenos Aires). The new CD, which will feature a Power Trio, is scheduled for release in March 2015. The 2015 release tour includes Argentina, Mexico and Canada as well as Europe. The Gabriel Palatchi Band was founded in Mexico in 2010. Since then, it has been home to talented musicians from many countries, including Argentina, Mexico, Canada and England.
