Parc-x Trio

Parc X trio is a Montreal-based instrumental jazz group. They were awarded the TD Grand Prize for Jazz in 2010 at Montreal International Jazz Festival. It is made up of Alex Lefaivre (bass, compositions) and Gabriel VinuelaPelletier (piano). Gabriel and Alex met while they were studying at the University of Montreal. They became friends and neighbors within a year in Parc Extension, Montreal’s multicultural borough. Alex brought his Fender Rhodes piano and drum kit to the basement, where they became their home base for practicing, writing and playing music 24 hours a day. The two young men chose to honor their hometown when it was time to name the band. Al Bourgeois is a Montreal native and a Muncton, New Brunswick transplant. His first tour with the group was in 2010, when he toured Mexico. He’s the perfect foil to Alex and Gabriel, and completes the trio well. The trio of Parc X have toured Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the USA. Their live performances are high-energy and their charisma on stage is what make them so popular. The group released PXT, its 5th album live in NYC. The album was recorded at ShapeShifter Lab, Brooklyn. The raw sound has no edits or overdubs. It reflects Parc X’s passion and amazing musicality. The trio, originally acoustic-based, now dives into the world of electric rock. The three musicians blend a variety of influences, including indie-rock and hip-hop, as well as EDM, EDM, industrial metal, and bebop. Their passion for melodic hooks, catchy rhythms, and the ability to work together in their compositions could almost be called telepathic. Parc X trio is a unique voice in contemporary jazz with a sound that heavily influences rock, urban beats, and pop-style melodies. http://parcxtrio.com
