Émile Parisien

Emile Parisien was born in 1982 as a saxophonist. He attends the Marciac Jazz Class from 1993 to 1996. There he learns music alongside experienced musicians like Guy Laffitte, Pierre Boussaguet and Tonton Salut. He has had the chance to meet many great jazzmen over these years: Wynton Marsalis and Chris Mc Bride, Johnny Griffin, Bobby Hutcherson, and Johnny Griffin invite him to perform at the Jazz in Marciac Festival. He studies contemporary and classical music at the Conservatoire of Toulouse in 1996. In 2000, Emile Parisien settles in Paris. He has performed in France and abroad since then with Jacky Terrasson and Yaron Herman. He is proud to have founded the Emile Parisien Quartet with Sylvain Daarrifourcq (d), Julien Touery, and Ivan Gelugne (p). This quartet is inspired by John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter of the 20th century. Since october 2006, the Emile Parisien quartet’s first album is available at Laborie/Naive. Last.fm
