Ariel Pocock, a 21-year-old jazz singer, composer, and pianist, has been recognized nationally and internationally. Ariel Pocock has been recognized by notable competitions like Downbeat Magazine, Essentially Ellington At Lincoln Center and the Kobe – Seattle International Jazz Vocal Competition. She is a unique musician who is known for her “true ability…sinewy piano [and] breezy vocal chops …”” (Seattle Times). Ariel has performed at numerous venus and music festivals, including Ronnie Scott’s London Club, Elkhart Jazz Festival and the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. She also appeared on the Stanford Jazz Festival and the Bellevue Jazz Festival. Ariel, a Stamps Scholar, is currently based at the Frost School of Music in Miami. She performs with the school’s ensembles and as an individual performer while she is in Miami. Ariel enjoys performing and recording as well as teaching and masterclassing. The past two summers, Ariel was a teacher in the Stanford Jazz Workshop’s Jazz Mentor program. This elite group of musicians spent the entire workshop teaching children.
