Jessica Radcliffe began her classical training as a pianist/clarinettist at Wells Cathedral School. She was a music specialist there from the age 11. As a teenager, she was exposed to jazz by listening to big band music and singing with Bristol-based big bands. She also played flute and saxophone in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. After singing with the group, she was offered a position as a jazz singer at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She graduated in 2014 with First Class Honours. Jessica has been a regular at London’s many jazz clubs and venues since moving there in 2010. She performed with Jiggs Wigham and the Latvian Radio Big Band, and as part of the London Vocal Project, she traveled to New York to perform Jon Hendricks’ fully-lyricized “Miles Ahead” to him. Michelle Hendricks, Kevin Burke Fitzgerald, and Anita Wardell were her featured soloists. Jessica is a composer and musical director of “The Remembrance Project”, a project that was featured at the London Jazz Festival 2016. This project consists of two sets of Jessica’s original compositions, and arrangements, based on her extensive study of the First World War. The music, which will be Jessica’s debut album, was recorded by Curtis Schwartz Studios with Mark Lockheart as the featured saxophonist. Jessica applied to ITV’s The Chase to help fund the recording. Mark Labbett was her beat chaser. from www.jessicaradcliffe.co.uk
